On behalf of Capt. Domenico Rognoni, Chair of the Bahamas Shipowners Association (BSA), and the BSA Board, we are pleased to invite Members to the Association’s Annual General Meeting and the BSA Maritime Industry Forum 2026, on Wednesday 30 September 2026, at Villa Pallavicino delle Peschiere in Genoa, Italy. The event can be attended in person or online.

  • 13:30 – 16:30 BSA Maritime Industry Forum & AGM
  • 16:30 – 18:30 Reception

Under the theme “Building Resilience in a Changing Maritime Landscape,” this year’s Forum will bring together senior representatives from the international maritime community to discuss some of the key challenges and opportunities shaping the future of global shipping.

About the Forum

Against a backdrop of geopolitical uncertainty, technological innovation and an evolving regulatory landscape, the BSA Maritime Industry Forum 2026 will provide a platform for thought-provoking discussion and the exchange of perspectives on the issues most relevant to the international shipping industry.

The moderated panel discussion will explore three key themes:

Geopolitical Risk & Marine Insurance: The impact of geopolitical developments on global trade, operational risk, sanctions, marine insurance and P&I
Speaker: Tom Williams, Head of Underwriting – Offshore & Renewables, North Standard

 

The Future of Shipbuilding: Fleet renewal, emerging technologies, alternative propulsion, digitalisation and investment decisions
Speaker: Attilo Dapelo, Senior Vice President Naval Vessels Division, FINCANTIERI

 

Port State Control & Compliance: Lessons from recent Port State Control inspection trends and their implications for safety, regulatory compliance and operational performance
Speaker: Stephen Keenan, Senior Deputy Director- Head of Inspections & Surveys Department,  Bahamas Maritime Authority

 

Following the Forum, the Association will hold its 2026 Annual General Meeting, before concluding with a networking reception for all participants.
