The Bahamas Shipowners Association (BSA) holds its Board Meeting in Nassau

The Board of the Bahamas Shipowners Association (BSA) is currently in Nassau, Bahamas, where, in addition to Board meetings, it has had the opportunity to meet with the Prime minister of The Bahamas, the Most Honourable Mr. Philip Edward Davis, and the Honourable Ms. Hon. JoBeth Coleby- Davis, Minister of Energy and Transport. The Board met with Bahamian open arms and the meetings were very constructive and productive.

The strong relationship between the Bahamas Government, the Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA), and the BSA is a testament to the mutual respect and understanding of their different roles in the maritime sector while also recognizing that each relies on the other for success.

The Board also interacted with the Bahamas Maritime Cadet Corps and visited the LJM Maritime Academy, both of which are supported by the BSA (and have been for some time now). Dr. Brendamae Cleare and her fantastic team at the LJM Academy gave us a tour of the facilities, including an impressive bridge simulation. Finally, the Board, alongside representatives from the BMA, held a Q&A with the Cadets centered on the endless possibilities in shipping.
